INVITED-TRIAL GUIDE · UPDATED 28 October 2026
How LabelRules works
From an imported job to the right label, printed through SmartFACT PrintStation and kept in print history.
This guide describes the trial scope. Access and the workflow supported for your site are agreed before the trial starts.
Bring in the jobs
A supervisor imports production jobs from a CSV in the manufacturing profile, or a list of stores locations to print as a label list. The importer checks the whole file before saving anything, and importing never prints. Reference tables, such as customer product codes, come in through LabelRules’ reviewed import, including files from data.smartfact.ai.
Prepare the label at the station
An operator scans the works order on a handheld or scan station. The approved rules choose the customer’s layout, resolve their product code, fill the label’s values and set the copies. A job missing something its label needs is held with the reason shown, for the office to resolve.
Accept and print through PrintStation
Accepting the run records the exact label and every copy. Labels print through SmartFACT PrintStation, on a printer that has passed its LabelRules qualification label. In Free an operator attends each print; Pro routes accepted runs to managed stations and prints them unattended.
Keep the record
Print history keeps each run’s exact label, with its copies and their outcomes. An uncertain send holds the printer until someone checks it. An exact reprint prints the original label again, linked to its run, with a recorded reason.
Practise with the real screens
Practise printing a job’s labels, handling uncertain output, authorising an exact reprint and drafting, checking and publishing a rule, using made-up orders and customers.
Read the guides on any device. Interactive demonstrations run on a desktop or laptop, showing the office screens or the station screens used on a handheld or scan station.
